The United States Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of bandwidth made available by the analog to digital television transition for new wireless internet services. This "Super WiFi" is still in the testing stages and probably several years away from roll out, but has the potential to deliver 15-20 megabits a second service miles from the receiver.
