It appears Bloom Energy does away with some of the expensive materials (such as platinum) in the reforming process, but the process uses natural gas or biogas.  They are doing stationary applications … Google was the first customer and others include eBay, Coke, FedEx, Walmart, Staples, Adobe and CalTech.  But this is a step toward distributed energy generation … just like the Honda example.
